Alief ISD Employees
Earn $500 for Referring Great Teachers!
2008- 09 School Year
Any current Alief employee (excluding district
administrators) referring applicants for teacher positions can earn up to $500
for each referral if Alief ISD hires the teacher for the 2008- 09 school
year.
Employees cannot refer Alief student teachers, Alief long-term substitutes, vacant
position substitutes, or former employees.
Part-time employees (e.g., substitutes) cannot refer themselves.
Two employees cannot refer the same person.
The referred teacher should meet the usual requirements for
employment as a teacher in Alief ISD.
Alief ISD makes no guarantee to hire referred
teacher applicants.
HR Department staff members collect referral information from the new
teacher. The new teacher provides the name of the Alief ISD employee
making the referral when she/he comes to the HR department to complete new
employee paperwork.
After confirming the name of the employee making the referral and
confirming that the new teacher remains in Alief ISD for a minimum of
one semester, an HR
administrator will request payment of the referral fee to the employee.
The HR administrator will notify the employee making the referral telling when to expect
payment. Payment is included in the January or February paycheck for
new teachers referred and hired in the fall. Payment is included
in the June paycheck for new teachers referred and hired in the spring.
The employee referring the new teacher does not have to complete any
paperwork to claim the referral fee.
