A required deduction for Texas public school employees who work a minimum of 20 hours/week.  A total of 7 percent of each employees gross pay is deducted with 6.4 percent being non taxable.   The other 0.65 percent goes toward the TRS-Care Program (health insurance).

TRS provides members with an annual statement of their account showing all deposits made from September through August and the total account balance.  Interest credit is 5% of your average annual balance and is added to your account on August 31st of each year.

If you have moved, please complete a change of address form with the Human Resources Record Specialist for your campus/department.  Once this is complete, a electronic change of address record will be submitted to TRS via TRAQS.  

Employees who plan to retire under TRS should notify Teacher Retirement as soon as possible in order to receive a retirement packet.  Additional inquiries should be addressed to:
