Hastings NGC Library

Welcome to the HNGC Library

2008-2009

The Mission of the Hastings Ninth Grade Center Library Media Program is to support the curriculum of the HNGC, and as part of that mission provide access to current, adequate, and appropriate information resources, and to ensure that all students, teachers, and staff are effective users of ideas and information. We are here to assist you in research or in choosing materials for recreational reading. Visit and use your library often. Take advantage of our many new titles, displays and other materials selected with your needs in mind.

Library Hours

The library is open each school day from 6:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before school, during and after school hours provide maximum opportunity for student library use.

   Library Access

Students must have a pass to come to the library at any time. If students come to the library during lunch, they must stay until the bell rings at the end of the lunch period.

Circulation      Procedures

Books - All circulating books may be checked out for a two week loan period. The date stamped on the date due slip is the date by which the book should be returned. Students returning books late will be fined $.25 per day, excluding weekends and school holidays. Books may be renewed provided there is not a demand for that particular title or subject matter. Students with overdue books or outstanding fines must clear their record before borrowing additional materials. Report cards will also be held until library records are clear.

Reference Books are for in-library use only. A copy machine is available for student use at a cost of $.10 per page. Special arrangements may be made for overnight check-out. Materials must be returned before 1st period. A fine of $.25 per period will be charged for each period the book is late.

Periodicals and Newspapers are on display in the magazine racks and are non-circulating. These are for you enjoyment while you are in the library.
